Annie Lennox
| Annie Lennox's parents include Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother, while Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox was accepted to the Royal Academy of Music in London in the 70s, where she studied the flute piano as well as the harpsichord for three consecutive years. Lennox made it through on a student's stipend working part-time in order in order to earn a living. Lennox felt that her skills aren't the same as those of her Royal Academy classmates. So she started thinking of other paths she could take. Lennox started her professional career in the year 1976 in a band called Dragons Playground. She quit the band prior to New Faces, the I.T.V. talent show. Her main role was as the singer of The Tourists from 1977 until the year 1980. There she made friends with Dave Stewart who would later create Eurythmics. Lennox went on to record her debut solo album Diva. This was released in the year 1992. It became a huge hit both critically and commercially. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth solo album came out in the month of October, 2014. This C.D. Lennox compiled her top blues and soul from early childhood. Lepidoptera is a collection of four songs that were improvised by piano, which Lennox has released in May 2019. This E.P. This album is a companion piece to her Now I let it go... art installation that was exhibited at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. This is also her first independent album. Annie Lennox (born December 25 in 1954) is an artist from Scotland. Scottish musician and political activist. The Tourists gained some minor notoriety for Dave Stewart's work during the 1970s. They went on, in the 1980s, to be the cult duo Eurythmics. In 1992, Lennox began her solo career with the release of her first album Diva which yielded numerous successful tracks, including Why and Walking through Broken Glass. Medusa the album she released in 1995 has cover versions of songs such asNo MoreI I Love Yous as well as A Whiter Shade of Pale. She has released six solo album compilations and studio albums. |
