Maureen Denise McCormick was born on the 5th of August 1956 at Woodland Hills California the youngest and only daughter of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick. Her parents were an aunt who worked as household worker and father who worked as a teacher. Her older brothers are: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick was an accomplished entertainer and singer at an early age. Her passion was to put on shows with puppets for her neighbors. At the age 6, McCormick won her first prize in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called McCormick to inquire whether she was interested in a career in showbusiness. McCormick got her first big work in 1964, when she starred in a television commercial for Mattels latest doll, Baby Pattaburp. The following year she appeared in another commercial for Mattels Chatty Cathy doll and was soon cast in the play Wind It up and It is Broken on stage at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick, which was chosen out of 1500 auditioned children, was cast as the oldest of three double-headed daughters in The Brady Bunch (1969), starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The show ran for five seasons and the show proved to be a huge success. McCormick admitted in Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published in 2008) that McCormick almost lost her virginity to Barry Williams during the five-year run in the series. The time was when she was 16, and he was 19. This would have occurred as she describes. However, the timing for our marriage was not the right one.
